A weekly update

Week Commencing 10/03/25

MONDAY

Morning

  • Dealing with case work, constituency matters – (a list of examples of the sorts of matters I deal with is at the end)

Afternoon

  • Independents meeting with Jane Corrie Head of ARA
  • This is a regular / scheduled meeting…. Items on the agenda for Ward 6: Bus shelters | A71 upgrade | Christmas lights | Pavement Parking | Street lighting

Evening

  • Community Action Plan meeting (Galston)

TUESDAY

Morning

  • Casework

Afternoon

  • Presentation to the Irvine Valley Parish Church of Scotland Guild – Darvel
  • I had the great privilege of talking to this wonderful group of ladies and telling them what I’m doing next.

WEDNESDAY

Morning

  • Community Walkabout Gauchallands Galston
  • Cllr McGregor and I joined members of the Gauchallands community for a walkabout and update on community matters, some good, some bad. Also, in attendance were representatives from the antisocial behaviour team plus housing officers.

Afternoon

  • Finance meeting for independents – this was an update on budget related matters.

EVENING

  • Meeting with Sgt Buchanan Grant our Community Police Officer, at Galston Police Station, along with representatives from DDCC. Antisocial behaviour was the top priority. I don’t think the impact of this is being appropriately recognised within EAC.

THURSDAY

Morning

  • I had been invited to attend / watch a multi-agency operation on the A71, based at Newmilns fire station. This was a combined operation involving the local police, traffic police, East Ayrshire Licencing, enforcement and Environmental Health, SEPA plus the DVLA. A full report of the activities will be made available next week.
  • Additionally, I also dealt with a number of constituency matters plus case work.

Afternoon

  • Social Media training at Newmilns Chat Hub

FRIDAY

  • Casework
